Jefferson Davis Community Hospital, licensed for a total of 101 beds, operates 19 acute care beds, 60 Long Term Care beds, and 14 Geropsych beds with a common vision of transforming its structures and services to create excellence as a community focused healthcare center.

Prentiss is the county seat of Jefferson Davis County and is within easy driving distance of the state capitol in Jackson, the Mississippi River at Natchez and Vicksburg, the beaches of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the city of New Orleans. Jefferson Davis County and Prentiss have many unique diversions to offer everyone, whether their interests range from bluegill fishing at Jeff Davis Lake, to the beautiful ancestral homes, or to the Longleaf Trace, a 41-mile hiking and biking corridor between Prentiss and Hattiesburg, MS.
